With over £5 to spend the physical size of the items which I could now purchase was noticeably bigger. I was drawn like a magpie to some of the bigger items, if nothing else than to be able to show what £1 had been turned into.

The practicalities of size often count against them however, as postage costs eat into the wafer thin margins quickly. This led back to my current MO of finding small and light items which could be shipped quickly.
Every time I shortlist I seem to find some common things. Clearly I am drawn to toothbrushes, as they are something I shortlist every time, this was no exception with a cool avengers kids toothbrush making the cut. Transformers have been a great brand for me so far, and bumblebee was considered this time around.
I also seem to shortlist a niche cheap toy, this time around it was a Lightseekers Awakening starter pack. Again this isn’t a game I have ever heard of, but the box was chunky and it felt again like it could be collectable. As with the bakugan toy in the previous round though the figures didn’t add up, and I went for the much more practical, but less fun, purchase of 2 Bibi Anti-Collic Bottles.
A key thing I’ve learnt so far is that I can easily be swayed by what I want to purchase, rather than what is the best practical purchase to make money. It’s something to be aware of as the bank gets bigger, as I’m buying the item to sell and not something which I think should have value.
The Bibi Bottles turned out to be another solid purchase, selling for £9.95. Postage was £2.70 with Hermes, and with the other ebay costs I came away with £1.25 profit, very similar to the previous trade.
As my bank is so low the % returns are huge at the moment, with this one increasing my pot by 31%. I know as this increases the percentage will have to fall, the trick will be to keep it, if possible, at 10% a trade. As I’m not buying from retail stores and not at wholesale prices this may be ambitious.
For now my bank is increased to £6.60 and I’m looking forward to another step forward next trade.
