After a couple of good trades it was straight back to business with another purchase. The budget has increased a lot in percentage terms, and I was interested to see what £3 might buy.

The shortlist was mainly branded toys again, with Star Wars, Disney Princess and Sesame Street all under consideration. The branded toys definitely seemed to fare better on ebay, either holding or sometimes increasing their value over time. The other thing that interested me was the caffeine shampoo, at 99p it was something that could be bundled into a pack of 3 similar to the chicken seasoning.
The Faraday pouch was the purchase though, it looked online that there was a consistent demand and I suspected £6-8 could be achieved for 2 lots.
I split out the postage from the item cost this time (£1.99 item £3.99 postage). Whilst the fees are the same as listing for £5.98 on free post, I wanted to see if this had any bearing on interest or the speed of sale.
From the off the listing gathered quite a few hits, and watchers, which meant that I wasn’t worried about the price as I had previously. Once it was snapped up I managed to match the chicken seasoning for my biggest profit to date – 99p! – bringing the total bank up to £4.08.
I know that these amounts are so small at present, and I could easily have started with a £10 bank, but the learnings from these early trades will hopefully stand me in good stead for when I’m dealing with a bank of 3 and hopefully 4 or 5 figures!! But for now I’m off to work out how to spend £4 wisely..
